OOC: where the deer and the antelope play! lol, jk! Jeriah took Beau and left the house. She need to be alone for a while. It was just too much to take in. A new person here. THere were no other buildings around, so this guy would have to move into Fanariel's old room. The thought of a guy sleeping in her sister's old bed...it was too much to handle. She steered the horse toward a large clump of trees behind her house.

Nerefon had been walking for days now and had been wondering if she would ever make it to her destination that she had to. It has been a few hours now that she had cut her hair short and had put on her guy clothing. Though why she did that she didn't know but she felt that she in a way had to in order to get what she did. Soon however she spotted a home not to far away and it looked like it was sorta like a farm.
"What do you think? Should we continue to the house or move on?" asked Nerefon to her raven.
"I think we should move to the house and see what it has and speak to the people but remember you should be careful." said the raven.
Nerefon nodded and disguised her sharp features to that of a young man with short UV white hair and walked to the house.

Jeriah got off Beau and sat down behind a tree. Frustrated tears were falling. Who was this guy they were going to hire? Her parents said they were planning on talking to a few different guys from a nearby village (nearby meaning three leagues away), and let people know that they were planning on hiring someone. She banged her head against the tree several times. "Why?" she asked her horse, "Why did Fanariel have to get married? Why do we need an extra hand? Why--" Her words were cut off when she heard a noise to her right. Slowly rolling toward her was a large, round, orange stone. Rolling? how could the rock roll by itself. She saw no one else around. She bent to examine the rock. Jeriah jumped back in surprise when the rock made a squeek. It started moving back and forth. The girl watched, fascinated. Suddenly, a crack appeared on the stone. Then another and another. Then all at once it broke into many pieces. Standing where the stone had been a moment ago was a small orange dragon. ~~~~~ Druell watched as his daughter rode off into the bundle of trees behind their house. She looked disappointed when he told her he would have to hire an extra hand. THat girl had been acting so strange ever since Fanariel left. Sure, they all missed the eldest child, but it was not unexpected. In fact, it was surprising that she hadn't gotten married sooner. He stopped thinking on these melancholy thoughts and noticed a young man with short UV white hair approaching. He must be here about the job, Durell thought.

Nerefon had apprached the house and noticed a man watching her, well her in a young mans discription. She paused slightly and shuffled her feet. She really didn't like to be watched but then again she had to do what she had to in order to get a job and lynk was the one that had told her the news.
"Hello there. I was wondering if you were the one that wanted to have a hired hand or something of the sort." said Nerefon as she adjusted her bag.
Lynk flew down and landed on her shoulder and glanced at Nerefon.

Druell was surprised by the question. Yes, it was known that he was looking to hire a hand, so there was no reason to ask. Still, he nodded courteously. "Yes, as matter of fact, I was. I need someone who can help me with my crops all year round: planting in the spring, tending the crops for weeds and such all through the summer, and harvesting in the fall. In the winter, we also need help preserving the food so it will last. We will need you to live here because there's no other place near enough to come and go to the fields. You will get free room and board, plus ten percent of what be make on the harvest." As he spoke, Durell observed the young man. He was a fine young speciemen. Yes, he would do well as a hand. He waited for the young man's reaction. ~~~~~ Jeriah stared at the small dragon, nearly startled by it's presence. She had heard of the Dragon Riders, of course, but only really half-believed them. And now, here was a legend come true, right at her feet. Is it for me? she wondered. She reached down to pet the creature. The instant her hand touched the dragon, she felt pain running up her left arm. It felt as if it were on fire, her hand as if she hand laid it on ice. Once the pain subsided, she looked at the dragon, who was now curled up beside her. She glanced at her hand and saw a large, silverly scar on it. She smiled at the dragon. "Hello there," she said.

Nerefon thought about what the man said and wondered if she would really want this but then again she did. Nerefon glanced at the raven named lynk and then back at the man with calm eyes.
"That will be fine. I have been working on gardens and blacksmithing for a few years so I am willing to help all that you need me to." said Nerefon as she shifted the bag on her arm.
"Do you want me to start today? I can if you so choose. If you don't then I hope you don't mind me putting some of my stuff away then searching the grounds around your house. I have grown up in being very cautious so I just want to make sure that I wasn't fallowed." said nerefon who gripped the hilt of her ebony sword and making sure that her daggers were still pressed against her back.

Druell nodded to the young man. "Of course, you want to get settled. You don't have to start until tomorrow. Be aware when you search the lands that my daughter is somewhere outside. Jeriah is upset about something, though I am unsure about what. Pardon me, my name is Druell." ~~~~~ Jeriah smiled at the little dragon who had by now crawled onto her lap and was snoozing. His amber scales were gleaming in the sunlight that filtered through the trees overhead. "I guess this makes me a Rider now," she said aloud, "I can scarcely believe it. The Riders were...legends. I never fully believed they existed. But here's proof." She smiled at the thought of being a Rider.

"Nice to meet you Druell. I am Nefron. Sorry to intrude on the subject but if your daughter is upset is it because there is something that is new and that she doesn't want that something to happen. Meaning that has something taken place in your family and then something else happening after that, that is upsetting your daughter?" asked Nerefon.
"I was just wondering if it would have anything to do with someone new. But then again I may be wrong for I am never really good with explaining peoples ability of emotions but my own. You don't have to answer the questions if you don't want to." said Nerefon.

Druell thought about what Nefron said for a while, then decided he was right. "Well, my elder daughter recently got married. I suspect that's why she's upset. I guess she'll just have to get used to it. "Go on now. I have work to do. Get settled. Your room is the first on the right." He left the house and headed for the fields.

"Don't push her to hard about it though for it seems her love for her sister is more then sister love it is, I suspect, a strong friendship too. Thank you again." said Nerefon as she headed into the house and went where she was directed to the room and put the stuff on the ground and began organizing it and getting prepaired.
After everything was set in the correct place she went back outside and headed to the clumps of trees that were close by.

Jeriah was nearly falling asleep when she heard a noise nearby. Looking up, she noticed a boy with bright white hair coming toward her. Her eyebrows met as she tried to keep from staring. "Who are you?" she asked.

"Me? I would be asking you the same question but then again that would be rude to do so wouldn't it? It depends on what you would do with the information if I gave it to you. My name is Nefron." said Nerefon.
Nerefon watched the girl carefully and looked in her lap and noticed something sparkally and thin but leathal looking but lizard looking too.
"A dragon rider but a new, very new dragon rider."
"Nefron what are you doing? you should be more polite to her you know that." said a younger looking boy out loud who was standing right behind Nerefon. Nerefon knew it was lynk.
"Shut up lynk." said Nerefon out loud.

Jeriah stared at this boy who had stumbled on her privacy. "My name is Jeriah," she told him, eyes narrowing slightly. She noticed another boy beside her. "What are you doing at my home?" she asked. The dragon in her lap stirred, then opened his eyes and squeeked at her. Great, now I might have to explain to this guy why there's a dragon in my lap. I hardly know why myself! she thought as she petted the small creature.

"I am at your house because your father needed extra help. I am only trying to help your family and that is all my reasoning for why I am at your home. Also I have been traveling a lot lately and rather then trying to run from all my troubles I would attempt to help a family in need more then my own. If that is understandable." said Nerefon who glanced at the small blazing orange dragon.
"What did you name your dragon, Jeriah? Not that i want to intrude but I was just curious and since I have lived when the last dragon riders where here I know some on the ways of dragons though why you may ask I would want to know your dragon's name is because it polite to ask." said nerefon.

"So, Daddy's already hired a new guy," Jeriah mumbled to herself. He didn't even ask her opinion of this guy. She gave a quick sigh. "Yes, he's my dragon...I guess. I mean, he just hatched right at my feet and left this gyhugic scar on my left hand, so yeah. I haven't even though of a name for him yet." She looked at the orange dragon and saw some thin black smoke trailing out of his nostrils. She remembered a word that she had learned a while back, and older word that meant "forge." "I think his name is Oranthor," she finally said.
